Ed Gabriels
food stylist -- beverage specialist
Ed Gabriels loves drinks. He loves their individual colors, and the way they can be manipulated depending on alcohol or mix. It would only make sense then, that Ed use to own his own bar in Williamsburg, Brooklyn called “YABBY,” which was voted one of the top 5 best outdoor bars 5 years in a row.
These days, Ed spends his time on set, making extravagant cocktails or rigging drink splashes for editorial and advertising clients. Ed considers himself to be a self-made “drink specialist” and is also comfortable styling an array of food from baked goods to main courses.
When Ed isn’t at work, he’s on the road. He’s the owner and head chef of Open Sky Training, a camp for triathletes in Upstate New York. Ed himself has been a triathlete for many years, and in October of 2011 he officially became an Ironman.
With a background in Creative Design from the Center for Creative Studies, Ed offers his clients not only an understanding of food & drink styling, but also a comprehension of art direction practices.
